Happy, happy Tuesday and welcome to my new series which is all about anti-aging! I thought it would be appropriate to write about this since it’s a hot topic and many people are trying to reverse the hands of time, or at least slow down the aging process. So, I have some anti-aging tips for you (yay!!). And guess what? You can implement them today! We’ll start with my top 3 anti-aging tips. Here you go!
#1: Drink lots of water
Water helps the brain function and helps energize the body. It also helps to prevent heart disease because it can impact blood thickness, the volume of red blood cells, and the protein fibrinogen. Also, dehydration can lead to headaches, joint pain, asthma, hypertension, lupus, the development of stones in the urinary tract, and multiple sclerosis. Last, drinking water before a meal can help you lose weight because it keeps you more satiated. If you exercise, you should drink even more water. Drinking water before, during and after a workout is critical because it fuels the body and prevents dehydration, as well as help the body replenish. If you’re dehydrated, you won’t have the energy, strength, and endurance to give your all during your workout. Following the workout, drinking more water helps to replace the water your body loses through sweat. How much should you drink? Eight 8-oz glasses of water is what’s recommended. If you exercise, you should drink more. Check out the CamelBak Hydration Calculator to help you figure out how much water you should drink during exercise.
#2: Use a face oil
Face oils are extremely popular because of their many benefits. They provide lasting moisture, brighten and revitalize skin, deeply nourish and soothe, absorb easily into the skin, increase skin elasticity, smooth the appearance of fine lines, and leave skin with a radiant glow. A little goes a long way–typically you only need a to use 2–3 drops and that’s it! Plus, you can use it to moisturize dry cuticles—which is a common problem if you wash your hands a lot. Here’s my favorite!
#3: Eat more fruits and vegetables
Believe it or not…what you eat can help you look younger. Why? Fruits and vegetables are filled with minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants which help firm your skin, smooth fine lines and reduce wrinkles. So which fruits and vegetables can reverse the signs of aging? Tomatoes, kale, eggplant, red bell pepper, basil, brussels sprouts, kiwi, pomegranate, watermelon, avocado, papaya, apple, bananas, grapes, and berries are your best bets. Next time you go to the grocery store, be sure to stock up!
All of these anti-aging tips are completely do-able today, right? So, which one will you implement first? There’s no time like the present. You can pick one or you can pick all of them! Have a good one, and stay tuned for more tips!
